We all know how important it is to have a home. But what happens when things go wrong? What help is there for people who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness? Wales’ very own housing law upended a system that saw too many people in need falling through the cracks, and placed early intervention and assistance for all at the fore.

Level 1 of Shelter Cymru’s Foundation in Welsh Homelessness Law guides learners through an overview of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 and its key terms. This course presents an excellent introduction to understanding the who, what, when, where and why of the law around homelessness in Wales.

Course includes:
• Overview of the legislation and its vision
• Detailed exploration of key terms including:
– Homelessness and Threatened with homelessness
– Eligibility
– Priority Need
– Local Connection
– Intentional Homelessness

Suitable for:
